My Yoga Teachers and some of my friends at the YMCA My Yoga Teachers

What we say at the end of class is: " Namaste" which means:

"I honor the place in you where the universe dwells. I honor the place in you where there is light, love, peace and truth. When you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, we are One." Om Shanti. Shanti means peace.

My Dr. Phillips YMCA yoga teachers are all unique and trained from many different yoga schools and styles.  They all teach one or more group classes at my local Dr. Phillips YMCA in South West Orlando in Orange County Florida.  I am very blessed to have them, and I cherish my time with them each and every day of the week.  My yoga teachers collective areas of training make my weekly yoga workout a total and complete mental, physical and spiritual training experience that fills the rest of my day with peace, love and joy.   Did you know that Far East yoga masters are usually men continued...

All of my teachers give me an exhausting yet exhilarating total body workout that leaves me dripping sweat and shedding lots of water weight.  (about 4 pounds on a double workout day)  The best part of the whole routine is the cooling down period of about 10 minutes.

Yoga teaches me that the breath is very important because it enriches the blood with oxygen.  As Kim says, "In with the good and out with the bad."   Breathing and yoga also helps the lymphoid system to flush out toxins.  Posture is also very important.  Yoga teaches the mind and body to become consciously  aware of poor posture.  The more you practice yoga, the more you notice poor posture because your mind and body are learning to work subconsciously in harmony to breath correctly, and to sit, stand and walk tall and erect.  If you have ever taken a yoga class and did not like it, it might have been the teaching technique.  All teachers are unique and have different teaching styles.  I suggest trying it for at least 10 times, hopefully over a 1 to 2 week period.  A new habit takes about 90 days to establish, so if you like it do it for 90 days to make it a part of your daily exercise routine.  I started my first yoga class around March of 2008 at my local Dr. Phillips YMCA.  I was partially crippled in my right leg from a herniated lower back disc that caused drop foot and extreme leg and foot pain.  I had to use a cane to walk.  The first few days of yoga made me extremely sore from using lazy muscles that had become weak and very tight.  They were not use to good posture, flexibility and strength conditioning.  A year later I can walk for 45 minutes without difficulty.  I have lost 45 pounds and my skin does not look lose because I took the weight off the natural way over the course of a year.

I will be posting pictures and info about my yoga teachers and friends to this web site, and I hope to make it inner active so that it will be like a "My Space or Face Book" blog that allows members to invite friends to join the blogs.  I have been working on web sites now for 10 years and currently own 22 World Wide Web sites.  Most of them are for either my commercial real estate business or my Alternative Energy dreams of creating an electric generators and vehicles that are powered by wind, solar and moon power.  I also have 40 years as a sound and lighting engineer and 30 years as a audio recording engineer.  I am now learning how to convert old analog movie tapes (VHS, BETA, Camcorder, etc) into digital media that I can edit and upload onto UTube videos and DVD's.  I already convert analog tape recordings into digital CD's and computer files that can be enjoyed on CD, IPOD and computer players.  My son is following in my wife's footsteps, he is a gifted musician who can play almost any stringed instrument and he rocks on synthesizers, keys and drums and blows me away in all of the new age high tech recording mediums.  Like his mother, he writes and scores his own original music tracks, and he teaches music lessons.  He has been educated at Stetson and Berkley.  His name is Nathan which mean "Gift from God", and he knows some very talented film makers and producers who I hope to become friends with so that I can make my UTube dream a reality.  Hey, it's another business plug, somebody has to pay for this web site...  :)
